| Building |
Constructed on a plot measuring 500 x 112 ft.,
the National Library Building has a covered area of 168,800 sq. ft. on
four floors. It has a capacity to accommodate one million volumes and
500 general readers seats.

| Administration |
The National Library of Pakistan is managed by a
Director-General Department of Libraries under the administrative
control of the Ministry of Education.

| Services |
The National Library comprises 6 divisions. It
has been planned to provide various services such as reference, loans,
compilation and publication of bibliographies and catalogues,
bibliographic information, development of library services, educational
services (exhibitions, lectures, events and book promotional
activities), conservation of library materials and training of library
staff. In 1985 it was designated as the International Standard Book
Number (ISBN) center for Pakistan. |
